Here is Dr. Hehir at the bottom of the run. The couloir and our turns are barely visible above him emanating from the obvious cleft in the face. The couloir is called the "Snake", or sometimes the "Dog Leg", because it makes a sharp bend mid way down.

In the winter season, Blaine Basin is a place of solitude, serenity and incredible ambience. The Snake Couloir weaves its way down through massive, black rock towers of Mount Sneffels' north face. The lower apron opens up into a seemingly unending, rolling snow slope. It is a wonderful playground.
