The Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is THE premier rock climbing venue in Western Colorado and one of best in North America. The canyon’s walls rise up over 2,ooo feet in places and rival those found in Yosemite, albiet with a much more adventurous and remote ambience. Climbs in the Black Canyon range from 5-20 pitches in length, the easiest of which are around 5.7, though most are 5.9 and up.
