TRIP TYPES

HIGHLIGHTS

Located just South of Grand Junction on Colorado’s wild, west end, Unaweep Canyon, meaning canyon with two mouths, is one of Colorado's best kept secrets...

Unaweep canyon offers superb rock climbing on ancient granite walls in a spectacular setting. This canyon, which splits the semiarid landscape of the Uncompaghre plateau, is lined on both sides with granite walls of up to 1,000 ft. high. It is uncrowded, very scenic and full of excellent climbing. The walls face north and south and therefore, offer year round climbing in this high desert landscape.

MULTI-PITCH GRANITE
WONDER- VALLEY

Single-pitch climbs in Unaweep range from single pitch 5.7 and up in difficulty. Unaweep is very near Utah’s Canyonlands and not far from Ouray and Telluride, Colorado.

Multi-pitch climbs range from 5.6 and up and are pure fun. For example, "The Guides Route", a six pitch 5.9 that weaves it way up 1,000 ft granite wall is a true adventure and within any beginner's comfort realm. OR, for a bigger challenge, try a climb such as "Sweet Sunday Serenade", a multi-pitch 5.9 is a true classic that will take you to the top the canyon walls.
